Instructor Subs planned
Create an interest e-mail to notify students if a regular instructor is out and who is subbing for them
We are all big fans of targeted emails, and sms text messages regarding a number of different club related topics. We plan to offer RSS feeds too. What other topics would you like to receive updates on?

@mcraft: while I love Twitter, a simple status page for each location with up-to-date information about subs would be acceptable. It could even be combined with the "how busy is it at location X" that's been suggested here.
The ideal solution would be an online calendar where you could manage your classes and enable alerts (email, IM, SMS, etc.) if there was a sub for that class.

good idea, there were some other similar ideas about posting 'status' information about the gym, like whether it is crowded. If you setup a micro-blogging platform like twitter.com and updated each location with status reports on instructors, classes available and changes, and gym capacity that would be handy and web 2.0'ish.
